About

Cynthia lives in the Southeastern United States with her partner, two dogs, and an ample supply of yarn. During business hours, she manages projects for a global translation company and takes every opportunity to use her math minor. Her Bachelor of Science, however, is in Psychology. The rest of the time, she ponders folklore, yearns for the hobbit lifestyle, and produces all manner of creations.

Knitting: Cynthia has been knitting since 2005. Most of that time was spent self-drafting items or making heavy alterations to written patterns. In 2019, Cynthia began writing patterns in standard knitting terms for her mathematical knitting capstone project. Now, she writes easily alterable, inclusive, and versatile accessory patterns. One day, she may even have the time to grade a garment pattern, who knows!

Writing: Cynthia crafted stories from an early age—alone or with her trusted imagination partner, her younger sister. Her short stories and poetry were published in her high school’s creative writing publication. Now, she writes blog-style creative nonfiction on Substack, a fantasy mail club, short stories, and unpublished novels.

2D Art: Growing up the daughter of an artist, Cynthia does not remember a time when a pencil or paintbrush wasn’t in her clutch. Now, Cynthia’s main mediums are Procreate, watercolor on paper, ballpoint pen (her favorite), and other pens (though not as good as the ballpoint). She also has an affinity for stamps and stationery. Watch out, she owns a laminator!

Cynthia has many other hobbies and interests that could fill the page. If you’d like to witness the wonderful madness, she posts on Instagram from time-to-time and on Substack regularly.

Fun Fact: All of the landscape photos on this website were captured by Cynthia! Most were taken along the US Pacific Coast or on San Juan Island off of Washington State.
